Research Interests

Gennady Goloshubin received MS (1972) in geophysics from Tyumen Industrial Institute and PhD (1981) & Dr.Sc. (1991) in physics & mathematics from Institute of the Physics of the Earth, Academy of Sciences, Russia. He spent more than 20 years for Western Siberian oil & gas industry. In 1992 - 1993 he was a research consultant at Norsk Hydro Research Centre, Bergen, Norway. From 1994 to 2002 he worked as head scientist and deputy director (R&D) for West-Siberian Research Institute of Geology and Geophysics (ZapSibNIIGG), Tyumen, Russia. In 2003 he joined University of Houston as a research professor.

His research interests include seismic survey (reflection and refraction), wave propagation in porous fluid-saturated media, imaging, velocity and AVO analysis, reservoir characterization and seismic monitoring.
